2016 Spring Senior Sessions were FUN! | College Station Senior Photographer

So Many Memories and SO much FUN!

Another spring semester has come and gone, and once again it was a fantastically fun semester!  I can’t describe how much fun it is to do this job, day in and day our, and get to meet and work with so many awesome seniors and their parents.

Rather than go on and on in words, I’ve decided to just let the photos from this spring’s sessions do the talking!  So without further ado, here they are…

Kaleigh

I recently had the opportunity to shoot a really fun senior portrait session with this beautiful Bryan High School senior, Kaleigh!   If you’ve never been to Old Baylor Park or the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, you REALLY need to go!  It’s so beautiful there, and was the perfect backdrop to capture Kaleigh’s senior portraits.

Kaleigh’s one of those students who excels at everything she does.  She plays soccer at Bryan High and is also in the choir, but in addition to that, she’s a member of the National Honor Society while also being in the top 6% of her graduating class! Kaleigh’s an active member of St Joseph Church, participating in many mission trips and youth events.  And in her “spare time” she also works part time for the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station!

Kaleigh is headed to the University of Alabama in the fall to major in Biology, with plans to continue on to medical school. Congratulations on graduation Kaleigh and good luck in the future!  Roll Tide!

Holly – Texas A&M Senior | College Station Senior Photographer

Holly

Holly was graduating from Texas A&M in December with her degree in Biology, so she contacted me about a senior portrait session before her big day.  Unbeknownst to her, Holly’s boyfriend Gerad contacted me a few days before the shoot to see if we could work a surprise engagement into the session!  Of course I was all for this since I love having fun and doing anything I can to make each session memorable.  And this was going to be a great one!

Planning the Surprise

Gerad and I decided downtown Bryan, after Holly’s campus session, would be the best place for the big surprise.  Gerad really wanted Holly’s senior portrait session to be all about her, and once the question was popped and the ring presented, the dynamics of the session would definitely change!  When I met with Holly to go over the plan for her senior session, she actually asked if we might be able to go to downtown Bryan after campus because she and Gerad loved that area, and how pretty it was with the Christmas decorations up.  Little did she know that she played right into grand plan – making it look like it was her idea to go there!

To make sure we had it perfect, Gerad and I met in downtown Bryan a few days before the shoot to go over where everything would take place.  We settled on the Christmas tree at the south end of Main Street as the perfect spot.  I took a photo of Gerad down on one knee holding the ring in front of the tree to use later.

Time for Senior Photos, then…

We met at the Aggie Ring to start Holly’s session and Gerad was there to accompany us along the way.  Holly had already planned for Gerad to come on the shoot and be in several of the photos.  Gerad actually graduated from Texas A&M in May with his bachelor’s in Biology as well.  So this was like a late senior shoot for him!

The session went as planned, with lots of photos as we moved across campus, capturing Holly (and Gerad in some cases) at lots of memorable spots.

The Big Surprise!

After we finished the campus session, we headed to downtown Bryan for the big surprise.  When we arrived, we walked up to the Christmas tree where I snapped a few photos of Holly in front of the tree, then I took a couple of Holly and Gerad together in front of the tree.  I called Holly over to show her the back of the camera, to ask her if these looked good to her.  As I did that, I pulled up the image of Gerad down on one knee, holding the engagement ring that I had take a few days before.  To say Holly was excited as she looked at that image on the back of my camera, then turned around only to see Gerad actually on one knee, holding the ring, would be an understatement!  She was ecstatic!  And she said YES!

I cannot think of a more fun senior session/engagement session/couples session to end 2015 with!  These two are both so awesome and were so much fun to work with, and Gerad’s planning of this big surprise was just perfect!

Mandy – Texas A&M Senior | College Station Senior Photographer

Mandy

On the senior portrait questionnaire I have all seniors fill out so I can get to know them better, there’s the question -“What words would your friends use to describe you?”.   Mandy actually asked a friend who said “Smiley, bubbly, outgoing, friendly, funny, classy…”, and after meeting and working with Mandy on these senior portraits, I couldn’t agree more with ALL of those!

Mandy is one of those type of seniors that I could work with day in and day out, and she would always bring something new to the shoot!   Mandy also brought her friend Lauren along for the session, which I always encourage seniors to do, since it adds quite a bit of fun and spontaneity to the sessions!  Plus it gives me somebody to help carry stuff and watch for hair and makeup issues!

Mandy’s session was a blast to say the least.  I can shoot smiley, bubbly, outgoing, friendly, funny, & classy all day long – and every one of those describe Mandy perfectly.  Mandy graduated from Texas A&M in December with her degree in Biomedical Sciences and has a very bright future in front of her.  And hey, she likes Hootie and the Blowfish, so she’s more than just really smart, she also has very good taste!

Jordan

Jordan contacted me fairly late in the semester considering she was graduating in December (hey, it happens, I’m at the bottom of everybody’s “To Do List”, and I’m alright with that!).  But I’m so glad she did and that I was able to work her in!

We met and went over the plan, then met at the Aggie Ring at the Association of Former Students to travel across campus, capturing memories for her as she prepared to walk that stage!

Her boyfriend Aaron came along for the session and was extremely helpful, and even got in many of the shots!

Jordan received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in December, and just from being around her for the short time I was, learned that she’s one awesome person, and I can tell you she’s going a long way in this world, and will be a great ambassador for Texas A&M University!

Cassie

Cassie’s senior portrait session was so much fun (I mean, they really are ALL fun) because it was a double session with Cassie and her friend Reagan, who she’s know since like Kindergarten!  Now they both graduated from Texas A&M this December and are on to bigger and better things!

On December 18th Cassie walked the stage and got her bachelor’s degree in Ag Leadership & Development, with plans to continue on in grad school to get her Masters and become a County Extension Agent!

Britney

Britney is one of those people who when you meet, you immediately know what an awesome person she is!  Graduating this month with her degree in Psychology from Texas A&M, Britney is beautiful inside and out (as you can see!).

Britney was one of my senior model reps for 2015, so we had several shoots together, and she was always a joy to work with, and made you happier just being around her!  She has been an awesome ambassador for me, and will be a great example of who Aggies are, as she goes out into the world after graduation and makes a difference!
